Dual Rate SFP Media Converters

Media converters provide a flexible and practical solution for connections between legacy 10BaseT and 100BaseTX networks and 1000Base Gigabit Ethernet fiber or 100Base fiber networks. “Dual rate” means that the SFP slot supports 100BASE-FX and 1000BASE-X connectivity. Media converters range physically from standalone devices to modular components of large chassis systems. Some media converters also support Power over Ethernet (PoE), allowing for the transfer of power through the copper data cable.
