IEC 61850 is an international standard that defines a wide range of communications protocols for electronic devices at electrical substations. This standard is divided into ten parts, with IEC 61850-3 covering EMI (electromagnetic interference) immunity and other environmental requirements. IEEE 1613 is an industry standard for communications networking devices in electric power substations. It specifies ratings, environmental performance requirements and testing requirements for networked devices in electric power substations. These media converters meet both IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 standards, are equipped with alarms for link and power failure, and support link fault pass through (LFPT), making them safe and reliable choices for use in high voltage environments.
